Simple ScreenTime — Privacy Policy

Simple ScreenTime (“the App”) is a parental screen-time management tool published by So Good Designs (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what information the App handles and how. A parent or guardian sets up and controls the App on their child’s device.

Screen Time data stays on the device. The App uses Apple’s Screen Time frameworks (Family Controls, Device Activity, Managed Settings) to enforce limits. The details of which apps or websites your child uses are handled entirely on-device by Apple and are never transmitted to us or stored on our servers. Apple does not share that data with us.

Information we handle

To provide the service, the App stores the following in our cloud database (Google Firebase):

Family and profile setup — a family code, child profile names or labels you enter, and an anonymous device identifier used to pair a child’s device.
Your settings — daily time limits, schedules, and the bonus activities and rewards you configure.
Activity records — bonus tasks a child marks complete, earned/spent bonus balances, and an approximate summary of daily usage and current status the child’s device reports so you can see it on your dashboard.

We do not collect browsing history, message content, contacts, precise location, photos, or advertising identifiers. We sign children’s devices in anonymously — we do not require a child to create an account or provide an email, name beyond what you choose to enter, or other personal contact information.

How we use it

Solely to operate the App: to sync your settings to your child’s device, enforce the limits you set, and show you the parent dashboard. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Service providers

Google Firebase — hosting, database, and anonymous authentication (data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure).
Apple — if you purchase anything in the App, the transaction is processed by Apple; we never see your payment details.

Children’s privacy

The App is a parental-control tool intended to be configured and managed by a parent or guardian. Any child-related information (such as a profile name) is entered by the parent, who consents to its use by setting up the App. We collect only what is needed to run the service. If you believe we hold information about a child and you would like it removed, contact us using the email below.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your family’s data while your account is active. You can request access to, or deletion of, your family’s data at any time by emailing us; we will delete it promptly.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
